It began a few years ago with a small group of family and friends with a few fireworks to set off on the 4th of July. It has since grown to be a community-wide gathering with free food, fireworks and festivities, attracting a crowd estimated in the thousands. This year’s celebration will be the biggest ever, according to founder Misael Nunez.
Members of “The Running Wife” will soon be delivering a load of groceries to help feed Carter County families, as part of a larger plan to support communities at a time when they are hearing increasing reports of individuals being denied benefits, meals and income.
Unless a now-unknown problem causes a change in plans, an opening date has been set to welcome patrons inside Henri’s in Olive Hill.

“Lord Honey, I’ve moved from the kitchen to the runway for a while,” Celebrity Chef Jason Smith said Friday morning during a visit to All That Bloomz in Grayson while announcing the latest in his new line of “Country Bling” clothing.

Hungry folks in Grayson welcomed the new food truck from Olive Hill’s The Drive-In this week at the former Ralph’s FoodFair parking lot. Owner Todd Antrobus reported outstanding demand for the restaurant’s “Big T”, as well as the “White Light” and “Baby Henri” combos, Friday afternoon.
