Vandalism at Grayson Sports Park. Possible Break-In Attempt at Tourism Cabin

Grayson police have been asked to look into vandalism at the site of the city’s new sports park, as well as a possible attempted break in at the nearby cabin which serves as the office for the city’s tourism bureau.

Grayson Sidewalk Project: by ROGER DUNFEE

The City of Grayson Emergency Management Agency received information through FIVCO from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet that money was available to cities with populations of less than 5,000 for pedestrian walkways, bicycling paths, and roadways as long as they were along state roadways.

Wet/Dry vote in Carter County

Petitions are actively being circulated in hopes of having a “Wet/Dry” election in Carter County this fall. A member of the Carter County Tourism Commission addressed Olive Hill Chamber of Commerce members and guests Thursday, and explained 2,500 signatures will be needed to have an alcohol-sales question added to the local ballot in November.

The Grayson Tourism Commission met in regular session Thursday, June 13 at the tourism cabin. Issues covered included a report about construction progress on the sports and recreation park, along with discussion of concerns about local hotels’ failure to pay the required 3% transient tax to the city of Grayson.
