Connie Howard does not try to mask her love of the new Goose Bridle Coffee Roasters coffee which has already been nicknamed “Boilermaker’s” by staff at the four local Racers Food Marts.
“Oh, I love it! It’s the best! All of it is good, but Boilermaker’s is my favorite,” said Howard, a deli clerk at Racer’s #3, while taking a quick coffee break with Store Manager Donna Anderson.
“It’s just good coffee,” Anderson observed, explaining the store keeps the “Boilermaker’s” beyond morning-rush hours.
“We probably make two dozen pots of it a day,” she said, noting the store commonly serves up a total of 40 to 50 pots of coffee, including the Racers Food Mart house blend, daily. A surprising number of their coffee consumers are young people during the morning school rush, Anderson and Howard agreed.
The store employees also know their “Boilermaker’s” could be inspected at any time by “the coffee guy,” Goose Bridle Coffee Roasters Founder and Master Roaster Will Stevens of Grayson. As part of his own quality control program, Stevens said he likes to visit each of the four local Racers Food Marts to taste the brew being sold. “He is so nice,” Howard said.
Racers Food Marts, with two locations in Grayson, one in Olive Hill and another in Cannonsburg, offers Goose Bridle Coffee Roasters by the cup at the same price as their other coffee selections.
