This old Jeep, a 1943 model was piloted into place by Carter County AMVETS Commander Mandel Smith for Grayson Memory Days 2019.
"It's there for people to take pictures with and tell the kids about," said Earl Shaffer, who explained the Veterans Park at the corner of Hord and Main Streets in downtown Grayson, will be one of several benefactors for proceeds from the recently-opened Veterans BINGO, in the old Ralph's Foodfair building.
"We are going to add tremendously to the park because that is where it all started from," he said.
