The KCU second annual Veterans 5K race took place Saturday November 13, 2021 with temperatures in the thirties, but that didn't stop the dedicated runners.
Eight students and two faculty members ran the race that started at the KCU stadium, and included Landsdown, the cemetery hills, Main street, Second street, KCU Apartments, KCU Library Drive, Academic Parkway and KCU's beautiful campus.
Vice President of Student Services, Donald Damron, planned the race route to take the runners past special veteran's memorial markers. They included the historical marker by the KCU sign on Landsdowne that describes the spot that soldiers from both sides would return to and share memories of the war. The veteran's park on Main Street and the giant flagpole memorial in front of the Lusby building on campus were also included.
