Students from West Carter High School and East Carter High School are again working together to learn more about local business and government, as well as give back to their home community.
Program founder Michelle Wilhoit described Carter County Youth Leadership Development as, “a program that gives a premier group of high school juniors an inside look at how our businesses and governments operate in Carter County. They are introduced to leading local business owners and elected officials who ‘show and tell’ how they do their jobs.”
“The group also organizes a public service project to help instill in them a servant leadership mentality,” Wilhoit added. “This year they are planning a cleanup project where they will clean the main streets and park areas in Carter County.”
