Carter County Youth Leadership

The Carter County Youth Development Program is compromised of Juniors from East & West Carter High School.

They will participate in monthly sessions designed to educate them on community businesses, government and charitable organizations that will help identify and strengthen their leadership skills.

Each session will be structured to build their knowledge of businesses in our community, their self-confidence and communication skills.

The program will encourage and promote individual responsibility, integrity, and social interaction to prepare them to be the future business and civic leaders of Carter County. This is the largest group to date with 30 students.

CCYL Mission is to Identify and strengthen leadership skills in our youth to build their knowledge and self-confidence through sessions educating them on community businesses, government, and charitable organizations. The program will encourage and promote individual responsibility, integrity, and social interaction to prepare them to be the future business and civic leaders of Carter County.

CCYL realizes that the future of our community rests with our future leaders. We need to be proactive in training these students to be better leaders for our community. This cannot be done with just a small group, but will require the support, encouragement, and participation of many. We are asking you to participate by making, not just a donation, but an investment in our community’s future.

Sunday August 11 the CCYL Students met with their mentors for their Project Planning Meeting. They met at the Grayson Gallery & Art Center (a big thanks to the Grayson Gallery & Art Committee for allowing them to meet there). The group accomplished so much in a short amount of time.

The group of students are very insightful and resourceful. Their cooperative spirit made for an efficient meeting and a bright future for Carter County. The students are making big plans to help improve Carter County!
