"Anything Goes" art show & sale opens Friday

Summer is off to a great start at the Grayson Gallery with several arts-related activities happening during the monthly F!nal Fr!days Art Walk on June 28.

The “Anything Goes” art show & sale opens to the public on Friday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.  In addition, the GGAC which has hosted two workshops for children with special needs via funding awards by VSA Kentucky, will present the VSA Kentucky Student Traveling Exhibit, featuring 40 pieces created by children with disabilities from across the Commonwealth. GGAC Kids Klasses participants will also have several local young artists’ work on display.


The primary show will feature over two dozen regional artists and more than 75 original works with media such as assemblage, collage, photography, mixed media, oil, acrylic, watercolor painting and much more that meet the anything goes theme.  

Awards will be announced at around 8:00pm for Peoples Choice (by popular vote), GGAC Board Choice and the Brandon Click Memorial Award, with winners awarded $50 and a blue ribbon for their selected piece.


There will be two bands, each a different genre, performing as well:  the Tri-State based Creek Don’t Rise with their their Appalachian Soul sounds as well as the Progressive Bluegrass music of Eastern Kentucky’s Charlie Woods & Deep Hollow.  Refreshments will be provided by Friends of the Gallery and the event is free to the public.
