Military veterans from across the region visited the Grayson Fire Department to enjoy good company and a dinner of soup beans, cornbread, salmon patties, fried potatoes, sauerkraut with kielbasa sausage, dessert and drink in celebration of Veterans Day 2019.

America’s military veterans, as well as their family and friends are welcomed inside the Grayson Fire Department until 7 p.m. today (November 9, 2019) to enjoy a dinner of soup beans, cornbread, salmon patties, fried potatoes, sauerkraut with kielbasa sausage, dessert and drink.

How many fire fighters does it take to change a high-tech light fixture?
The Grayson Fire Department’s annual high-tech Halloween light display continues until 11 p.m., October 31.
Marsha Hall, Grayson Police Dept. Officer, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. Local doctors have given her a grim diagnosis and she is awaiting an appointment in Houston for a second opinion.
Grayson Fire Department members continued testing lights and audio for this year’s high-tech holiday light display.
Grayson Fire Department members were seen working into the night Wednesday as they installed lights around headquarters in preparation for this year’s high-tech Halloween display, and later the more elaborate Christmas light show.

I giggled like an old man possessed by the spirit of a little kid when Kyle Morgan asked if I wanted to take advantage of an opportunity for driver training with the Grayson Fire Department. “Driver training – does that mean actually drive a fire truck?” I wondered, so I shot Morgan, the city’s assistant fire chief, a note seeking clarification.
