Anyone who might enjoy landing a role in five community-based performances of "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" is encouraged to audition for a part April 14 in Olive Hill or April 15 in Grayson.
Guidelines and suggestions for the 2022 Summer Community Play Auditions were offered by Caleb Burchett, General Arts Director for the theatrical effort being presented by the Olive Hill Center for Arts and Education along with Grayson Gallery and Art Center.
"Please prepare your own piece for auditions - suggested audition scripts can be from Romeo and Juliet or Hamilton. Feel free to be creative," Burchett said. "You will be asked to read from the Sherlock Holmes script. If you have any other talents, such as singing, please have that talent prepared."
Burchett emphasized the need for dedicated people to make each show shine.
"If you audition, you understand the following commitments if you are cast. We will have five performances; all will be in Carter County. Rehearsal is a must! We will have rehearsals on both sides of the county. Rehearsals will be in the evening and/or on the weekend.
Auditions are open to people 12 years old and up, and will begin at 5 p.m., Thursday, April 14 at Olive Hill Center for Arts and Education, 120 Comet Drive, Olive Hill. The next round of auditions will begin at 5 p.m., Friday, April 15 at Grayson Gallery and Art Center, at the corner of 3rd Street and Carol Malone Boulevard.
Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact Caleb Burchett at Calebjb2@gmail.com.
