Remembering Stacy

Stacy Kiser will be laid to rest today. Her spirit, however, will live forever in the hearts and minds of family and friends.

“She always had a smile on her face and she was always there for anyone who needed her,” said her niece, Brooklyn Burton. “She never stopped.”

“”She was the life of every party – the heartbeat of it,” Brooklyn’s husband, Jacob Burton, added.

The family members explained Kiser was a serious person with a strong sense of humor.

“She was always just happy,” her niece said, noting it took a lot to make Kiser lose her cool.

Family, they said, was her priority above all else. Burton said Kiser was in high school when she was born, and proudly embraced her like a mother. “I was her little baby doll, she always said,” Burton said, recalling the warmth of Kiser’s care during her childhood. When Burton herself became a mom, Kiser beat she and her husband to the hospital to welcome their daughter, Nora Bea, into the world. “Nora Bea was special to her, but she had a TON of nieces and nephews that were special to her.”

“Her boys were her world. She lived and breathed for her boys. She did everything for them – everything,” Burton said, smiling as she reported Kiser recently celebrated her son Braydon’s 15th birthday, along with his brother Bryson, 16, by enjoying a tradition of watching Bengals game with family. She also attended Braydon’s JV football game last week.

“She was whooping and hollering and ringing her cowbell,” Jacob said, smiling.

“”She was the cowbell queen,” Brooklyn added.

“Her husband, Josh, was her her high school sweetheart and was the love of her life,” Burton said. “It was love at first sight. That’s what they always said.”

The Burtons said their loss is profound, although they are blessed with an abundance of beautiful memories including their time together during a recent family vacation to Orange Beach, Alabama when everyone shared a condo.

When asked what memory of Kiser they will likely think of first in the days ahead, both Burtons smiled and agreed they will fondly recall images of Kiser cheering her sons on the football field, ringing her cowbell.

“She is known for throwing the cowbell!” her niece said, chuckling as she explained Kiser accidentally let go of her noisemaker during the 2019 East/West game and the bell “hit someone really hard.”
