Special Meeting Thursday: Carter County Home Improvement Project

If you have carpentry, roofing, plumbing or electrical skills, members of the Carter County Home Improvement Project hope you will join them at 6 p.m., Thursday (February 27, 2020) at the Grayson City Building.

"Over the last two years, the Cchips group has made major and minor repairs to over thirty owned homes, most of them for elderly whose income is from Social Security of SSI," Cchips Secretary Bob Caummisar wrote.

"We have also worked with a church group from Boston which brings skilled volunteers and has a large budget for each repair they plan again this summer."

The Cchips program is directed by a board of four Carter County residents, some of whom are dealing with health issues, Caummisar explained.

"What we need now is some new board members and more volunteers, especially with skills in carpentry, electrical, roofing or plumbing. Or for future fundraising," he continued.

Anyone with an interest is urged to attend Thursday evening's meeting.

"We have called a special meeting to be held on Thursday, February 27 at 6 p.m. at the Grayson City Building. You are cordially invited to be with us that evening to learn more about us or to share with us your ideas on bettering Carter County by bettering it's housing."

Carter County Home Improvement Project is a not-for-profit Kentucky corporation, recognized as tax exempt by the IRS, with a mission to improve the housing of needy Carter home owners.
