Lonnie Carroll
1949 – 2019
Lonnie Carroll, 69, entered into rest Monday, August 19, 2019 at Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.
He was born August 28, 1949, in Elliott County, KY, a son of the late Charlie and Lizzie Thornsberry Caroll.Mr. Carroll was retired from Anderson Doors & Windows, F.E. Shumacher in Hartville, OH. He was of the Baptist faith and loved farming and country music. He enjoyed spending time with his grandbabies and his fur baby “Wrinkles”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dasel Rodgers and Nettie Bear; three brothers, Zion Carroll, Norwood Carroll and Tommy Carroll; two nieces, Cheryl Rodgers and Vickie Carroll, one nephew, James Douglas Colley; and three brothers-in-law, Frank Rodgers, John Crockett and Ova Bear.
He is survived by his loving companion of 21 years, Benita; one daughter, LaVanna Deere (Dennis); two sons, Shannon Stewart (Jama) and Austin Stevens (Breanna); two sisters, Nona Hurley (David) and Virgie Crockett; eight grandchildren, James Wireman, Jr., Kendra Kouns, Corey Kouns, Hannah Wireman, Ashley Caylor, Damon Caylor, Levi Stewart, Kayslee Stevens and one grandchild on-the-way, Bennie Stevens; four great-granchildren, Arabell Crum, Azlyn Crum, Sawyer Crum and Xavier Crum; one niece Lisa Colley; and two special friends, Walt and Lucy.
Funeral Services will be conducted 7:00 PM, Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Duvall & Moore Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Colley officiating. A private burial will follow at a later date.
Friends may visit from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM, Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the Duvall & Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 149 Whitt Street, Olive Hill, KY.
Serving as Pallbearers: Austin Stevens, Shannon Stewart, David Hurley, Bruce Carroll, Dwight Rodgers and Zendale Carroll.
