FRANKFORT- The Kentucky General Assembly paid tribute to our legislative past by holding day 48 of the 2022 Regular Session at the Old State Capitol building in Frankfort. In association with the Kentucky Historical Society, the periodically held event is a tradition that allows lawmakers to recreate a moment in history.

Not only do they stink, as their name suggests, but brown marmorated stink bugs can do a number on crops. No matter the size of your garden or field, you will need to take action to keep this pest at bay.

Legislative Update: 4H Day - submitted by Robin Webb

FRANKFORT- Tuesday was 4-H Day in Frankfort! It is possibly my favorite legislative day of the year. I am a proud alum from the Boyd County Saddlelites horse club and Carter County speech, pig, electricity, and cattle programs. 

Traffic Advisory: Temporary Daytime Closures on KY 986; KY 1 Work Postponed in Carter County For pipe replacements

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (March 16, 2022) – More pipe replacements will require additional closures of KY 986 and will postpone work on KY 1 in Carter County this week. On Thursday, March 17, crews will again close KY 986 in the Ross Chapel-Greenhill Road area (mile markers 4-5) for drainage pipe replacements. Then on Friday, March 18, weather permitting, KY 986 will be closed at milepoint 6.5 just before (or west of) Adkins Road. The road will be closed 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. Traffic may detour using KY 182 (Grahn Road) during work hours. Embankment repairs that were scheduled Friday on KY 1 near Hitchins have been postponed until a later date. Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
