Grayson Gallery & Art Center: Women in the ARTS ~ call for work!

FEMALE ARTISTS INVITED - I've included you others so you'll stay informed and hope that you'll come see this show (sorry fellers, this is all about the ladies each March - be sure to support them)! You may also PICK UP art during the dates shown below. The Grayson Gallery is excited to be presenting the NINTH ANNUAL "Women in the Arts" art show and sale in celebration of Women's History Month. ANY subject and ALL mediums will fit in! All of you creative females ~ visual artists, musicians (the Appalachian Ladies Review) and even our caterer will be showcased! Details about the FREE opening reception on March 25th will be announced soon so watch for your invitation for the monthly F!nal Fr!days Art Walk in March as well as other female-focused events all month long. YOU are welcome to submit your original work as follows (registration form is available; may be completed in advance or on-site at the Grayson Gallery & Art Center, Inc.): ALL mediums, ANY size and ANY subject - up to 3 pieces per artist. Work must be ready to hang (wires, etc.) with a tag on the back - or as possible for 3D - with artist name, title and price* (or marked NFS). TWO dates for submitting work: Saturday, March 19 and Monday, March 21 (each day... 10:00am to 2:00pm). Do you have extra art supplies, books or other items to DONATE? Plan on bringing your goodies when dropping off or picking up work each month for our "Creative Exchange" Box... help us help those in need of supplies for creating. N E W S! Please NOTE... LEGISLATIVE UPDATE - Submitted by Senator Robin L. Webb

FRANKFORT- Members returned to the hustle and bustle of Frankfort on Monday for Valentine's Day. Meetings are in full effect, with bills making their way through the process as the Kentucky General Assembly officially crossed the halfway point of the 60-day Regular Session this week.

Grayson Gallery & Art Center - "Peace & Love" art show & sale, February 25

The Grayson Gallery & Art Center (GGAC) will host its annual "Peace & Love" art show & sale with an opening reception on February 25 from 6pm to 9pm; three CASH awards will be given and there will be live music by The Return and refreshments! Feel free to share this via email or social media with other artists and organizations - we welcome ALL artists.

Extension Notes - Don't Forget - You Can Still Compost in Winter: by Rebecca Konopka, Carter County Extension Office

Even though it is wintertime, are you continuing to compost?  Some people give up the exercise in winter due to cold temperatures and resume in the spring when it warms up.  Just because it is cold outside, you probably still have plenty of compostable kitchen items, and you can continue to successfully compost in winter regardless of the temperature.
