“Dad was a carpenter,” Tony Collier said as he and battled a bout of of Covid-19 last fall which temporarily forced him out of his own woodshop.

Collier said his father constructed many homes and buildings, including The Shangri-La, a motel and restaurant he owned and operated with Tony's mother, Geraldine, for many years.

The motel was opened in 1957, Collier said, adding the restaurant was probably best known for the roast beef special served there.
The property was converted to commercial and residential spaces sometime in the 1990's, Collier said.

It now has seven efficiency apartments, five one-bedroom units and eight two-bedroom spaces, in addition to 3,000 square-feet for further growth, with 300 feet of frontage on Main Street.
