Grandview Grocery: Big Plans For Former K-Mart Plaza in Grayson

“We’re doing a restaurant and everything,” Lori Lewis said this week as word spread about plans for new life in Grayson’s long vacant K-Mart plaza.

Lewis, who is co-manager at Grayson Grandview Outlet along with Yvette Pennington, said finalized plans for the spaces (including a beauty salon and other former retail space), as well as a projected opening date, will be likely be announced next week.

The local discount store’s employees, however, are already at work in the new 32,000 square foot space.

“We’re in there stocking and cleaning and moving shelves … bringing in inventory,” Lewis said, confirming the current store behind First National Bank on Carol Malone Boulevard will be open as usual from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday until the final move is made.

“Oh, and the new place will be open seven days a week,” Lewis added.
