Free Winter Coats Saturday at Grayson Gallery & Art Center

EKY Mutual Aid is proud to work with Grayson Gallery & Art Center to bring free coats to folks in need in the eastern Kentucky community! Doors will open at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning and there will be free coats, jackets, hats and gloves, hoodies and other cold weather clothing available.

EKY Mutual Aid is a collaborative volunteer collective that operates on donations alone and works hard together to build community within the Appalachian region by offering help and kindness to our kin and neighbors, judgement free. The group was formed in March in order to help folks in Eastern Kentucky get through the pandemic. We have given out 25+ gallons of hand sanitizer, over 200 masks (many of which were hand sewn by local artist Bonita Skaggs) and 175 bookbags filled to the brim with school supplies. Our Facebook group has reached 1K members and is always growing like kudzu as kindness spreads.

There will be coats available in all sizes and styles, first come first serve! No proof of income is required. We’re just hillbillies helping hillbillies! Masks ARE required and EKY Mutual Aid will have some available at the door. Social distancing will be observed. We’re here to keep our community safe and warm!
