Olive Hill Trail Town Coordinator Jesse Oney is not one to compromise on cast-iron cooking over an open fire.
So, when he used a Dutch oven to craft a new recipe for the 2020 “It’s Fall Y’all” Festival in Olive Hill, Oney insisted upon tasting an untested recipe before sharing it with visitors.
In a series of photos by Carter County Post, his expressions clearly reveal his positive reaction to the recipe after a small sample was served up by fire-mate Stevie Clay.
After meeting the chef’s approval, the Dutch oven dish was served throughout the afternoon, along with peach and apple cobblers which were also cooked in Dutch ovens with burning embers of oak and hickory.
