Owners of two Grayson businesses have announced they will add free hot dogs and live music to the local 4th of July celebration Saturday as friends and family visit the city to enjoy fireworks and festivities hosted by Tres Hermanos Nunez restaurant.
"What's more American than hot dogs on the 4th of July?" said Broken Drum Records' Jim Wolford, adding he had proposed a simple "hot dogs, mustard and ketchup" menu which was immediately improved upon by Kathy Hockley and Elaine Wiler at Antiques N' Uniques, who stepped up to cook their own hot dog sauce recipes and pay for the food.
Broken Drum Records will provide a P.A. system, along with a vintage amplifier for guest bassists, to allow for live musical performances.
"Musicians are welcome," Wolford said, explaining he is personally inviting several of the area's artists to take a turn in the spotlight, as well as joining other musicians for a "jam session" event set to begin around 5 p.m.
Antiques N' Uniques, located at 602 Carol Malone Boulevard, Grayson will extend hours and welcome guests to browse during the July 4 celebration.
