Tom "Cowboy" White, who introduced himself as a former racist, hugged KCU student athlete Dee Garrett Saturday while Garrett and others promoting a peaceful protest tomorrow (June 7, 2020) in Grayson.
Several other people stopped their vehicles and hand delivered bottled water to Garrett, which he said people had been doing since he first hit the street with a backpack and a large wooden cross bearing several messages.
White, who now leads a ministry known as "Street Called Straight," spoke with Garrett for several minutes and the men embraced as they prayed in the shade beside Grayson Gallery & Art Center.
Sunday's peaceful protest is scheduled to begin at noon in the empty lot on the corner of Main Street and Carol Malone Boulevard.
