But loss has taught us many things and now we face each day with hope and happy memories to help us on our way.
And though we are full of sadness that you’re no longer here, your influence still guides us and we still feel you near.
What we shared will never die, It lives within our hearts. Bringing strength and comfort while we are apart. -Author Unknown-

Goodbyes hurt when the story is not finished but the book has closed forever.
May 2, 2015 - A date that has no significance to so many, but a date that changed our lives forever. The day a big piece of our hearts went to Heaven.
There isn’t a day that passes that we don’t speak your name. A funny story or a random memory will bring us laughter and sometimes tears.
You lived each day of your 30 short years to the fullest. We find ourselves striving to be more like you. We try to search for happiness in each day, even the darkest of days.
We know that’s what you would want us to do and some days we simply just get through, but we try. We try to find that little piece of happiness that you were so well known for. Growing up, you always hear about heroes. A term that is sometimes thrown about loosely. Many of us weren’t certain how we would define a hero until you left us.
On the evening of May 2, 2015 I finally understood the true meaning. We hope you know how many times your name is mentioned and “Hero” follows after.
Five years later and we are still often told, “We hope if ever put in that situation, we could be as strong and courageous as Mike was.”
We feel the same - let us be as courageous as you were.
(John 15:13) Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
