The Grayson Area Chamber of Commerce conducted its April Board of Directors meeting via Zoom video conferencing on Thursday, April 16. On the agenda was the status of our 50thAnniversary Memory Days celebration. So many people have been enthusiastically involved in organizing the golden anniversary of our town’s biggest festival. We were hopeful that a foreseeable end to the current circumstances would allow us to continue with our plans. Unfortunately, the foreseeable end likely will be after Memorial Day weekend.
Given the state of emergency created by the novel coronavirus pandemic and the social distance requirements needed to flatten the curve to stop the disease spread, the Board voted to postpone our 50th Celebration to Memorial Day weekend next year.
I want to thank all of the volunteers that have worked so hard on Memory Days, and I look forward to working with them again soon in planning the biggest celebration this town has ever seen next year! Stay safe. We will get through this together. #TeamKentucky #TogetherKy
