An enthusiastic crowd gathered at the First Baptist Ministry Center in Grayson this week for a “Pack-A-Thon” event with the ambitious goal of hitting the half-million-meals mark since the program began in 2012.
At the end of the day the records showed they had exceeded that by 24,706 meals for the Love The Hungry program.
Fourth Grade students at Prichard Elementary have also been part of the local packing effort, and held a session at school earlier in the day.
The locally produced meals, designed to provide a perfect portion of nutrition, have been designated for hunger relief in Haiti.
