Part of KY 504 in Elliott County To Be Closed

FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (Jan. 28, 2020) - Contractors will temporarily close part of KY 504 in Elliott County this week for a Kentucky Department of Highways slip repair project.
Work to install T-rail alongside the highway will start Wednesday or Thursday, Jan. 29-30, on KY 504 about 5 to 6 miles east of Elliottville (mile markers 5-6) between Ernest Rose Road and Brownie Cox Road near KY 1620. The T-rail will be used to stabilize an embankment slip.

Due to the nature of the work and the size of the equipment used to install the T-rail, the highway must be closed to all thru traffic at the work location between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day for several days. The closure will not affect school bus traffic. All thru traffic should detour using state highways such as KY 32 and KY 7, or via local routes.

Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
