Equines In Early Morning: by TIM PRESTON (20 photos)

 Previously seen in a post titled "Welcoming Committee" these horses accompanied Community Journalist Tim Preston during a recent attempt to photograph an old Carter County barn just as the sun peaked up from the horizon on a cold, January morning.

While the sun's appearance did not meet the photographer's imagined expectation that morning, the horses instead provided many breathtaking images.

A "heartbreak" photo - through the lens it looked as if the horse was sniffing the sun.
