Antiques On Main Closing: "Most of the dealers are discounting to liquidate."

Nancy Conn shed many tears before announcing the decision to close her shop, Antiques On Main, in downtown Grayson.

When the shop reopens tomorrow, (January 21, 2020) Conn said shoppers will find reduced prices as she and the store’s vendors prepare for the final days of business.

“Most of the dealers are discounting to liquidate,” Conn said, later adding “OBO is appreciated.”

Antiques On Main opened in the spring of 2016 as an expression of Conn’s 27 years in the antique business. The shop has been operated by herself and two employees, “and I drag my husband into it – sometimes unwillingly,” she said with a chuckle, correcting herself to note her husband is actually an avid history enthusiast with his own passion for antiques.

The shop has an impressive array of inventory, Conn said.

“Farmhouse country is the biggest probably. I would say 70 to 80 percent of our customers want that,” she said. “We have some high-end things but most are reasonably priced.”

Conn said the last day at Antiques On Main will be “in mid February,” and that she is uncertain what kind of business will follow.

“I really hope whatever comes in here is good for Grayson,” she concluded.

Antiques On Main, located at 128 East Main Street in Grayson, will be open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For more information call 606-495-1569.
