Olive Hill Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Dinner 2019 (more than 25 photos)

A tangible sense of excitement echoed around the banquet room at Carter Caves State Resort Park last week as the Olive Hill Chamber of Commerce welcomed guests and honorees for the organization’s annual meeting and awards dinner.

“We have a bond unlike any other town, to my knowledge,” said Chamber President Lisa Conley as the evening got underway, citing the notable moments of 2019 including major anniversary celebrations for decades-old businesses, as well as the opening of new shops and restaurants in Olive Hill.

“We are definitely moving forward,” Conley said with absolute conviction.

After discussion and updates about of Olive Hill Chamber of Commerce  projects, community members were honored with awards recognizing their efforts on behalf of Olive Hill’s residents and merchants. Marshall Ainsley accepted the Non-Profit of the Year Award on behalf of The Galaxy Project; Hazel Messer was presented the Community Spirit Award; the chamber’s Moving Forward Award went to Todd and Wanda Antrobus; J.D. Rayburn was recognized as Honorary Overseer of the Historic Depot.

Von Perry was recognized as Volunteer of the Year; Olive Hill Historical Society was honored as Member of the Year; and, the Olive Hill Strong Award went to Tyler’s Pizza. Angela Messer Fulz was awarded the Youth Empowerment Award, and Chelsea Hamilton received the Award of Excellence.

“I can’t thank everybody enough for 2019,” Conley concluded as the evening came to a close.
