OLBH’s Johnson Earns DAISY Honor

Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH) has awarded Jennifer Johnson, RN, with the DAISY Award.

The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. As a DAISY Award partner, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital recognizes one of its nurses with this special honor every other month. DAISY Award honorees consistently demonstrate excellence through their clinical expertise and extraordinary compassionate care. They are recognized as outstanding role models in the nursing community.
Johnson is a nurse in the OLBH Pediatrics Department and has been an employee at the hospital for 31 years. She earned her degree in nursing from the University of Rio Grande in Rio Grande, Ohio. Johnson resides with her husband James and daughters Jada and Jenna in Catlettsburg.
The DAISY Award originated from The DAISY Foundation. The foundation was formed in November 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died at age 33 of complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura. The Foundation, in Barnes’ memory, was established to express gratitude to nurses for the work they do for patients and their families every day.
