Funtoberfest Continues: Art, Henna Tattoos, Poetry, Pets and Treats

Singer/Songwriter Sasha Colette will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday during Funtoberfest 2019 in Grayson.
Family-style fun leads the way as Funtoberfest 2019 continues in Grayson today, starting with
 with registration for the Nick Neschan Foundation 5k Run/Walk at 7 a.m. at the Veterans Park Gazebo on Main Street.
The race begins at 8 a.m., and benefits the Deborah's Porch Scholarship and the Brother Paul Schmidt Scholarship.
Market 474, featuring locally produced goods, begins at 9 a.m. at 501 North Carol Malone Boulevard.
Also starting at 9 a.m. on Third Street, there will be an art show at Grayson Gallery & Art Center, as well as craft sales at Grayson Fire Department with proceeds to benefit Carter County Shop With A Firefighter.
Park Street will start hopping at 11 a.m. with a DJ from Cartwright Sound, Hand Painting & Henna Tattoos by Miranda Knipp (for a small fee) and Chili In The Park. Sampler tickets are $1 each and bowls will cost $5 each. Drinks will also be available. Sponsored by Grayson Rotary.
There will be a story reading with a limited number of free books at the Grayson Tourism Cabin, along with a Character Meet & Greet, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., as well as children's games at 1 p.m.
A poetry reading by author George Eklund will begin at 2 p.m. at the Grayson Branch of the Carter County Public Library on Main Street.
Winners of the Chili Cook Off, Scarecrow Contest and Storefront Display competition will be announced at 2 p.m. on Park Street.
Annual Pet Costume by All Animals Veterinary Care begins at 2:30 at City Park, followed by a Kid's Costume Contest at 3 p.m., and the annual Pet & People Parade at 3:30 p.m.
Funtoberfest 2019 comes to a conclusion with a Trunk Or Treat sponsored by Gregoryville Christian Church from 4 to 6 p.m. at Prichard Elementary
