Bayso's Halloween Party 2: The Lost Boys Triple Tribute

Members of The Lost Boys hatched an ambitious plan for their Halloween show Saturday night at Bayso’s Sports Pub in Grayson. “We are either being ambitious or we are being idiots,” said guitarist Brad Green during a recent surveillance run with bassist Mike Phillips in anticipation of the performance.

Phillips said the idea began as a casual observation made a long time ago. “We had talked about it for years,” he said. “We had a lot of songs by a couple of bands and had said ‘If we added two or three more songs by them we could do a whole set of that band’s songs.”

For Saturday’s show, the band has taken the idea to an entirely new level, offering three tribute sets, complete with costume changes, honoring Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and Poison.

“The Lost Boys will play the opening set,” Green said, explaining they will transform into “Slippery When Wet,” then “Hysteria” and “Poison Rose.”

Along with Green and Phillips (who also lend their voices to the band’s sound), The Lost Boys are made up of Clint Adkins on vocals and guitar, along with John Walker on drums and vocals. Phillips and Green have been playing together for 16 years, and note this is their 8th year working with Adkins.

The band aims to provide a show audiences can enjoy, Phillips said. “They can expect to have fun and enjoy songs they’re going to know all the words of and grew up listening to,” he said. “It’s going to be fun. I promise.”

The Lost Boys, Slippery When Wet, Hysteria and Poison Rose show is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. Saturday at Bayso’s Sports Pub at 111 South Horde Street in Grayson. Admission is free.

This year’s Bayso’s Halloween Party kicks off tonight (October 25, 2019) with a performance by Nicholas Jamerson.
