OLBH Starts Heart Failure Clinic in Grayson

Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH) will begin a heart failure clinic at Bellefonte Primary Care Grayson (100 Bellefonte Drive, Grayson) beginning Wednesday, June 26. The new clinic will take place at the facility every Wednesday.

The goal of the new clinic is to improve the quality of life of patients with heart failure and increase their function and capabilities so that they can remain in their homes and return to normal life activities. The provider for the new heart failure clinic will be nurse practitioner Julie Estep, APRN, MSN, FNPC, with support from interventional cardiologist George J. Linsenmeyer, III, M.D. Linsenmeyer practices at Bellefonte Heart Care on the OLBH campus and Estep at Cornerstone Medical Plaza in Ashland.

“We’ve been working with the OLBH Heart Failure Clinic on the hospital campus in preparation for bringing these services to the Grayson area,” said Estep. Studies show that heart failure clinics that educate patients on ways to manage heart failure and risk factors have been shown to reduce hospitalizations and improve quality of life. “Many heart failure patients have other issues that complicate what is going on with their hearts,” Estep said. “We will work with a patient’s physician to make sure the needs of each patient are met.”

Patients to the new heart failure clinic require a referral. Those who would like to visit the clinic should ask a doctor or healthcare provider to refer them to the heart failure clinic at Bellefonte Primary Care Grayson.
