Corn and beans in demand at Grayson farmer's market

Cucumbers, green beans, zucchinis, onions, carrots, jellies, jams, soaps and more were among the locally-grown produce items for sale during Saturday's Carter County Farmer's Market in Grayson.
Featuring items grown and produced in the immediate area, Milissia and Chester Owens of Valley of Hope Farms greeted customers, along with Greg whose farm is located and Angel Glass of Crane Creek, and Frank Sexton, who farms "on the other side of Cribbs Hill.

"I sold all my cabbage," Sexton noted, explaining he arrived with about 100 heads that morning.

The Grayson farmer's market is open from 3 p.m. until sold out each Tuesday, and from 8 a.m. until sold out Friday and Saturday. Vendors accept senior and WIC vouchers. The market is located behind the Grayson Cooperative Extension office on U.S. 60 next to the old county fairgrounds.
